We suggest you a time journey, through the water tower “la Torre de les Aigües del Besòs”, one of the few Barcelona’s industrial heritage elements that has survived to the present days, in the Poblenou neighbourhood.

From the dream of its construction, going through industrial uses, until the dream of its rehabilitation.

Built by the modernist architect Pere Falqués in 1882, with more than 60 meters height, it’s the testimony of a great project designed to supply drinking water to the city of Barcelona.

Due to the architectural structure of the tower, visits must be done with a guide, who will accompany you on this time travel through the 19th and 20th centuries, through the industrial past of Barcelona and of the Poblenou neighbourhood.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, the tower is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. However the tower has a reception and adapted services in the “Casa de les vàlvules” (the valves house) at the entrance of the tower.

The visit ends with an astonishing view of Barcelona from its terrace at the top… after climbing 311 steps! But we will climb it slowly, with stops for explanations on each floor.

Information point

The Tower has an information point for visitors at the entrance. But since the tower is managed by volunteers from the Poblenou Historical Archive (AHPN) it may happen that the person who is at the reception desk does not speak your language, that’s why we ask you to consult the available dates for the coming weeks and to contact us for any request or additional information about visits in a foreign language.

Visits

The visits are always accompanied by one of our guides.
The visits are made in groups of maximum 10 people.
Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
The visits have a duration of approximately 75-90 min.
It is necessary to book the visits in advance.

Individual ticket: 7€ (6€ if you buy it in advance on line).
Free admission for children under 12 (each child must be accompanied by an adult).
